Well Systems
Well systems are a powerful and effective way to treat common problems like iron and hydrogen sulfide. The most commonly used filtration media is carbon which not only removes the chlorine at the point of entry but also filters out other organic and inorganic compounds that make for unhealthy water used for drinking and bathing.
Well water conditions do change and it's important to have your well tested periodically. Possible sources of contamination can be from:
- Livestock yard, Silos and Septic Tank Leach Fields
- Petroleum Tanks, Liquid-tight
Manure Storage and Fertilizer Storage and Handling
Potential Contaminants:
- Microbial contamination (fecal contamination from feed lots)
- High concentrations of naturally-occurring contaminants
- Local land use practices (fertilizers and pesticides)
